John Fogarty is proposing to develop a solar PV panel array consisting of around 19,000 solar panels covering 31,500 square metres at Lisbrien, which would would produce almost 5 megawatts of renewable electricity once the site becomes fully operational – the developer plans to export this to the national grid via an existing sub-station at Tyone, as reported by TippFM.
The proposed 10 hectare site, would incorporate two electricity control cabins, 5 inverter units and underground cable ducts along with boundary security fencing and CCTV, and would provide jobs for up to 10 people during the construction phase.
The project would employ up to ten people during the construction phase.
A decision is due from the planning authority by the end of January.
